Unidentified terrorists attacked a Catholic retirement home in Yemeni port city Aden on Friday, killing 16 people, including four Catholic nuns.
“They forced the men and women outside with their hands tied. We heard the sound of gunfire, and when we came out we saw them all dead in the garden,” local resident Um Mohammed told Al-Jazeera.
The four gunmen stormed the building after telling a guard they were there to visit their mother, opening fire once they got inside.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
The care home was run by the Missionaries of Charity, an organization founded by Mother Theresa.
