Wed, December 5, 2012
Amid ample evidence that a soccer field in Gaza was used as a launching pad for missiles by Hamas, the Federation International Football Association (FIFA) announced that it would help Hamas rebuild the Palestine Stadium that was partially destroyed by the Israeli Air Force targeting terrorists.
FIFA secretary-general Jerome Valcke was quoted on fifa.com as saying, “We see it our mandate to rebuild football infrastructure which has been destroyed.”
Valcke added, “Soccer brings people together and we will support any re-construction necessary when football infrastructure is destroyed through disasters.”
The cost of repairing the stadium has been estimated in the millions of dollars.
Israeli targeted the soccer field when it was determined that the stadium was being used as a launching pad for the Iranium-made Fajr-5 missiles that were fired on Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.
